Jeremy Renner has taken Matt Damon’s lead role in the newly refreshed “Bourne” franchise, which is set to continue this summer with the release of “Bourne Legacy.”

Plot Summary: The fourth installment of the highly successful Bourne series sees the return of the franchise’s screenwriter, Tony Gilroy, this time stepping into the director’s seat for an entry which sidelines main character Jason Bourne in order to focus on a fellow estranged assassin (Jeremy Renner).

“Bourne Legacy,” opening in theaters on August 3rd, co-stars Ed Norton, Joan Allen, David Strathairn and Rachel Weisz.

Sony Pictures has released an official full-length trailer for “The Amazing Spider-Man,” the latest film adaptation of the famous comic book series.

Plot Summary: Peter Parker spends his days trying to unravel the mystery of his own past, until the day that he discovers a secret his father held that will ultimately send him down the path of becoming “Spider-Man.”

Starring Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker and Emma Stone as Peter’s love interest, as well as Denis Leary, Martin Sheen, Sally Field, and Rhys Ifans, “The Amazing Spider-Man,” hits theaters in 3D on July 3rd.

Tyler Perry is working on a new movie and has enlisted a unique line-up of actors/actresses to star in it!

Eugene Levy, Romeo Miller and Denise Richards will all star alongside Perry in his latest film project, “Madea’s Witness Protection,” The Hollywood Reporter said earlier this week.

Perry be playing the infamous gun-toting, sassy-mouthed grandma Madea, while Eugene Levy will star in the movie as a wealthy man from Connecticut who is put in a witness protection program with his family after he gets caught in an embezzling scandal with his investment company.

Levy’s character, who is husband to Denise Richards’ character, is forced to move to Madea’s home in the South as a part of the witness protection program.

Romeo Miller will play a man who believes Levy is responsible for his church’s investment money being wiped out, and now wants to take the law into his own hands.

The cast of “Madea’s Witness Protection” also includes Doris Roberts, Devan Leos, Tom Arnold and Danielle Campbell, adding to the already interesting ensemble of actors/actresses.

Tyler Perry’s next movie “Tyler Perry’s Good Deeds,” in which he stars as the lead character, is set for release on February 24th.

The 18th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards were hosted Sunday (Jan 29) in Los Angeles, and here is the complete list of winners!

The SAG Awards are held annually to give film and television actors a chance to honor their peers in a ceremony that sheds light on those who will walk away from the Academy Awards next month with an Oscar trophy.

The 2012 Golden Globe Awards were hosted by Ricky Gervais (for the third time in a row) live from the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills Sunday night (Jan 15).

Big winners for the night included George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Idris Elba, and the movies “The Artist” and “The Descendants.”

Morgan Freeman was also honored during the three-hour ceremony, with Freeman taking home the Cecil B. De Mille Award, presented to him by legendary actor Sidney Poitier, which Freeman said was an honor in itself.

Pop diva Madonna also took home a Golden Globe Award for best song for “Masterpiece,” from her film “W.E.,” which she wrote and directed. She shared the award with co-writers Julie Frost and Jimmy Harry.

The 2012 People’s Choice Awards aired live from Los Angeles’ Nokia Theater last night (Wed Jan 11).

Katy Perry was the big winner of the night, taking home five awards in the categories of “Favorite Female Artist,” “Favorite Song of the Year (E.T.),” “Favorite Music Video (Last Friday Night: TGIF),” “Favorite Tour Headliner” and “Favorite TV Guest Star (How I Met Your Mother).”

Though the nominees will not be announced until late next month, five films have emerged that will likely be honored. From a fabulous black and white silent film to a mainstream Brad Pitt production, here are some of 2011′s notable films.

The Artist: The fact that this film, based on a preexisting cinematic era, can be considered “original” is a testament to the genius of “The Artist.” Not since “Singing in the Rain” or “Sunset Boulevard” has there been a more touching foray into the emergence of talkies. Few films can capture the joy and excitement of old Hollywood the way in which this luminous tale of fame and romance does. Brilliant performances by French actor Jean Dujardin and Argentine star Berenice Bejo help make this film the year’s best.

Alexander Skarsgard and Kirsten Dunst in "Melancholia"

Melancholia: This haunting end of the world melodrama cements Lars Von Trier’s status as a cinematic mastermind. Kirsten Dunst stars as Justine, an unfathomably depressed bride who is desperate to connect with someone. Even her devoted new husband (Alexander Skarsgard) cannot hault her descent into madness. The film’s second act explores the perils of impending global destruction. Eerily beautiful, this rousing metaphor for mental illness is not easily forgotten.

Penn Badgley, Zachary Quinto, and Paul Bettany in "Margin Call"

Margin Call: It’s charisma with a side of riveting plot in this all-star drama. Led by breakout star, Zachary Quinto, the story explores the 2008 financial crisis and its initial effect on the corporate world. Dynamic performances, engaging dialogue, and a gripping portrayal of reality make “Margin Call” a low-budget gem.

Michael Fassbender in "Shame"

Shame: Ranking the film as one of the year’s best doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s watchable. Upon viewing the film you’ll add it to the list of films that stayed with you for days but you’d never view more than once. As haunting as it is informative, “Shame” captures the unsettling realities of sex addiction as the story’s central character, a brilliant Micheal Fassbender, plunges into a pit of self-destruction. Fassbender’s undeniably brave portrayal (he appears completely nude in the opening scene) is a major reason why the film is impossible to forget.

Moneyball: Wisely avoiding the usual round of sports movie cliches, “Moneyball” is a cleverly constructed portrayal of an amazing true story. The film caters to those who have little to no knowledge of baseball, and captures what the sport means to millions. Told through old footage, radio commentary, and photographs, it is as touching as it is witty.

The new “Men in Black III” trailer has finally arrived!

It was 15 years ago that the original “Men in Black“, starring Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones, hit theaters.

Not only did the film have a super awesome theme song and set a precedent for cool, but it was also a box office smash and became a prevalent part of pop culture. And it made sense that Hollywood would jump at the chance to release a sequel 5 years later, known as “Men in Black II.”

Now, nearly a decade after MIB 2′s release, the film franchise’s third installment, ‘Men in Black III‘ is set to be released, featuring Smith and Jones, yet again, as well as Josh Brolin (who plays a younger version of Jones), Emma Thompson, Bill Hader and Nicole Scherzinger.

But can the film live up to the hype surrounding it? Check out the trailer below and judge for yourself!

The new film “The Muppets” has been popular with audiences and critics, and now it’s generating some Oscar talk!

According to the film’s star Jason Segel, the song “Man or a Muppet” should snag the “Best Original Song” award at the ceremony. He revealed: “I think think that ‘Man or Muppet’ should be nominated for an Academy Award. You can put that in print.”

The song, which is featured in the new “Muppets” movie, was penned by the uber talented “Flight of the Conchords” star Bret McKenzie while the video features a cameo by Jim Parsons from “Big Bang Theory.”

When you look back on some of the Oscar winning songs from the past, it’s not unlikely that the “Man or a Muppet” could be honored. Let’s not forget that Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” (from the movie “8 Mile”) and the “Hustle and Flow” track “It’s Hard Out Here for a Pimp” were both honored by the Academy.

But for now, there’s just one question: Are you a Muppet of a man or a very manly Muppet?

Rihanna will make her big acting debut when the new sci-fi action flick “Battleship” hits theaters next year … and yesterday, the second official trailer for the movie featuring the Pop star hit the web.

Unlike the first trailer released over the summer, which only featured a quick glimpse of Rihanna (Seriously, if you blinked, you would have missed it!) … this new trailer shows the singer getting in on the action, gun in hand, as a strong, capable Marine helping protect the world from invading aliens.

According to IMDB, “Battleship,” which also stars Alexander Skarsgard, Taylor Kitsch and Brooklyn Decker, is “an epic action-adventure that unfolds across the seas, in the skies and over land as our planet fights for survival against a superior force.”

“Think Like A Man,” a film adaptation of Steve Harvey‘s best-selling book of a similar name, is a romantic comedy about four men who have their love lives turned upside down when their girlfriends start taking advice from Harvey’s “Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man” book.

Once the guys figure out what’s going on, they decide to turn the tables on the women and take matters into their own hands.

Upon viewing “Margin Call” you’ll realize two things. One, the financial crisis that began in 2008 is just as scary for major corporations as it is for the “little people.” And two, Zachary Quinto is going to be a major movie star.

The film captures a frantic 24-hour period in which a trillion dollar Wallstreet investment firm learns that their pattern of productivity is about to burst. The riveting drama turns the trading room floor into a platform of contention and destruction.

Eric (played by the always magnificent Stanley Tucci) is laid off after 19 years of service and escorted from the building like a criminal. But before he leaves, he informs his employee of some alarming news … everything they know has come to an end.

From the initial scene, the predatory nature of the corporate world is boldly captured, and we are introduced to each boss Russian nesting doll style, from the inside out. There’s the boss, then an even bigger boss, and an even bigger boss, until finally we meet Jeremy Irons’ character who reveals the three ways to make a living at the top: “Be First, be smarter, or cheat.”

Yet, gradually it becomes clear to the company that something horrific is about to happen. Something the audience recognizes as the beginning of global economic ruin. Watching the film may be likened to viewing early portions of a 9/11 movie. You watch knowing that something terrible is about to happen but the images on-screen reflect a nativity you wish so badly to revisit.

Director JC Chandor was offered a generous distribution deal by a major production company on the condition that he make the ending of the film more commercial, however he refused and the company passed on the project, forcing Chandler to settle on a low budget film, though with a genuine ending.

The film also manages to conquer a murky topic with an element of humility. Much of this is owed to Kevin Spacey. You’ll find no trace of the sociopathic/murderer boss he played in “Horrible Bosses” as he takes on an honorable and sympathetic role in this film. The dynamic between him and Quinto is quite compelling. Actually, the dynamic between Quinto and anyone is compelling. His performance is understatedly brilliant.

The rest of the noteworthy cast includes Penn Badgely, Simon Backer, Demi Moore and Paul Bettany, who launches into some seriously unforgettable monologues. Warning: scenes with up to three or more of these stars may result in more charisma than one could handle.

It’s finally official!

Ice Cube has confirmed that he will be releasing a new “Friday” movie … And there’s even a HUGE possibility that the entire original cast — including Chris Tucker as “Smokey” — will all be coming back!!

“Absolutely yes the studio is in the process of getting the entire original cast to do another ‘Friday.’ [Ice Cube] is very excited about this and has every intention to make it happen,” rep from Cube Vision Productions — who produced the first 3 Fridays — said in a statement.

We are totally psyched about a new “Friday” …. our only request is Day Day and Smokey BOTH be in this one!

Are you excited about the new “Friday” movie?

Atlanta rapper Waka Flocka Flame — whose rap name was allegedly inspired by Muppets character Fozzie Bear and his signature phrase “Waka! Waka!” — is rumored to the target of a joke in the new Muppets movie, which hit theaters right after Thanksgiving.

About an hour into the film, bad guy Tex Richman (played by Chris Cooper) introduces his crew of fake, evil Muppets called “The Moopets.”

Tex Richman: “The Moopets are a hard cynical act for a hard, cynical world.”
Fake Miss Piggy: “Hey Fozzie, I want you to meet a friend of mine!”
Fake Fozzie Bear: “Waka Waka!”

As you can see in the image above, “Waka Waka” is a tougher-looking version of Fozzie Bear with a deep voice and a large stack of gold chains, including a pendant that appears to be a large “WW.” Given his style, it’s hard not to assume that “Waka Waka” is a parody of a rapper.

While nothing has been confirmed, Hip-Hop heads caught on to the subliminal (alleged) jab, and are now questioning whether or not the filmmakers were actually trying to diss Waka Flocka, or or this is all a really funny coincidence.

Looks like Ashton Kutcher isn’t mourning the end of his six-year marriage at all, but rather basking in its conclusion.

The “Two and a Half Men” star and recovering Twitter addict was all smiles as he cozied up to “Glee” star Lea Michelle (without his wedding ring on, of course) on the red carpet of the L.A. premiere for the new movie “New Year’s Eve,” in which Kutcher and Michele are love interests. (Way to play your “part,” guys!)

When the pair wasn’t making googly at eyes at each other, they were seen tenderly caressing each other and sharing several laughs. Sources at the premiere say they even caught the ‘glee-ful’ duo whispering to each other in between giggles, talking about only God knows what.

This makes Kutcher’s very first red carpet appearance since his estranged wife Demi Moore announced that she was filing for divorce.

“New Year’s Eve,” starring Halle Berry, Ludacris, Jon Bon Jovi, Robert De Niro, Zac Efron, Sarah Jessica Parker and countless others, is a romantic comedy film directed by Garry Marshall that depicts a series of holiday vignettes of the state of several romances, akin to Marshall’s previous film “Valentine’s Day.”

While Ashton Kutcher is simply starring in a movie with lots of people in it … his soon-to-be ex wife Demi Moore is currently starring in “Margin Call,” a marvelous illustration of the 2008 financial crisis.

Whether or not you think Kutcher’s behavior is acceptable, make the right choice when choosing between the two films when you hit theaters this week.

The film ‘Shame’ is macabre portrait of a man with a crippling desire for filthy sexual encounters. The term ‘sex sells’ does not apply to the film’s appeal because of it’s raw and unsettling nature. Back in 2008, British artist Steve McQueen and Irish actor Michael Fassbender collaborated on the film “Hunger,” a haunting foray into the 1981 prison hunger strikes in Northern Ireland. But this time, the two set out to capture an emotional prison, rather than a literal one.

In “Shame,” Fassbender plays Brandon, a successful member of the corporate world with a debilitating sex addition, and his addictive pattern of hookers, porn, and street hookups is difficult to stomach.

Yet from the first frame, in which Fassbender remorsefully lies in filthy sheets, you cannot tear yourself away from the screen. The actor, who has already picked up a slew of awards for the film, is captivating. There is tremendous pain in his face that resonates even when he’s engaging in a sexual encounter.

Brandon’s addiction is disrupted by the arrival of his unstable sister Cissy (played by the brilliant Carey Mulligan). The two give a whole new meaning to the term “dysfunctional relationship.”

It seems that every word Cissy utters is a cry for help. This is especially true of the film’s most touching scene in which she sings ‘New York, New York’ and leaves her brother tear-stained. From there, Brandon’s agony begins to consume him. Despite an innocently sweet date with his coworker, Marianne (Nicole Beharie), he faces a downward spiral with little reprieve.

It may be argued that the film, which was branded with an NC-17 rating, is set to fail. In terms of cinema, America is known for having strange censorship laws. Whereas European and Latin American films portray sexuality in a manner that is honest, the US usually shuns explicit ventures and lets them fade quietly in a limited number of theaters.

As Fassbender told the Huffington Post, “Half of us have a penis and the other half has probably seen one, and so why should it be more normal to, like, chop people’s heads off and shoot people? Does that mean that that’s more acceptable or closer to us as human beings?”

I couldn’t agree more.

In fact, there is only thing that separates the Johnsons from their charming friends and neighbors: Isaiah, the son, has been molesting Sidney, the father, since he was fifteen years old.

And what’s more, Sidney has written a memoir and chronicles, in great detail, the ins-and-outs of the unseemly father-son relationship.

Will the manuscript ever see the light of day, or will young Isaiah have a thing or two to say about it?

“The Strange Thing About the Johnsons” is a dark satire of the domestic melodrama, which asks “What if…?” and then, for some reason, comes up with an answer.

Tyler Perry is on the receiving end of some heavy backlash for casting reality TV personality Kim Kardashian in his upcoming movie “The Marriage Counselor.”

Now the writer/producer/director has spoken out in defense of using the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star, who has also recently received some negative criticism of her own after she filed for divorce from her husband Kris Humphries after only 72 days of marriage.

In a blog post on his official website, Perry explains why he chose Kim Kardashian to play the role of a character named “Ava,” and he also gives a few details on the movie and other cast members, including Lance Gross, Brandy, Vanessa Williams, and others:

I think many of you know that this is a very difficult time of year for me, so what I try to do is make sure that I’m working during this time. All I wanted to do was shoot a great film and try to keep my mind off the holiday grief that I have been experiencing for the past two years. I could not have imagined I’d be getting all these emails about Kim Kardashian. I HAVE SEEN THEM!! YOU HAVE BEEN HEARD!! …LOL. Now, may I say something? Can a brother get a word in?….LOL. Y’all gave me a new movie title, Tyler Perry’s “Diary of a Mad Black Woman Cause You Hired Kim Kardashian, Don’t Make Me Take Off My Earrings and Boycott Yo A**.”…LOL. Some of my ladies are upset. Ok, all jokes aside, can I have my say? Will you at least hear me out?

I was in a Mexican restaurant and the cutest little old woman stopped me and said, “I want to talk to you about KAR-DAT- CHA-NEM.” I said, “Ma’am?” She said, “What is wrong with you putting her in the lead role of your movie?” By the time I explained to her that she was not in the lead role and why I thought she should be in “The Marriage Counselor”, she said, “Oh, I see your point and I can’t wait to see the movie.” So, if you don’t mind, I’d like to share with you what I said to her then maybe you’ll see why I wanted her in the film.

This movie is about a young lady named Judith (Jurnee Smolett), who grew up in the countryside of Virginia in a trailer park. She was raised in the church by her mother Sarah (Ella Joyce). Judith married her childhood sweetheart Brice (Lance Gross) and had the perfect life until she graduated college and went to work in the big city. After college, all she wanted to do was be a marriage counselor, but the only job she could find was working for a matchmaker named Janice (Vanessa Williams). Janice has several employees that work for her, including a woman named Ava (Kim Kardashian). Ava is constantly trying to influence Judith on everything from her shoes to her hair. Judith meets a man at work named Harley (Robbie Jones). Harley challenges everything in her life from her marriage to her husband to her faith. Meanwhile, Brice (Lance Gross), Judith’s husband works at a pharmacy owned by Mrs. Waco (Renee Taylor). Brice has just hired a coworker named Melinda (Brandy), who has some major demons that she is running from. In the end, the choices that both of these young women have made come crashing down on them and their lives will never be the same. I wish I could tell you more, but I don’t want to ruin it for you.

After I finished writing this movie, I sat back and re-read it. Half way through my read, the gravity of what I had written hit me. I knew that this message was not only for my age group, but for all audiences, especially the youth. ESPECIALLY THE YOUTH!! YOUNG FOLKS NEED TO SEE THIS!!! And not just the young people that follow me, but the young people that are following other young people, as well. I wanted a younger cast, that’s why I put Jurnee in the lead and invited Lance Gross, Robbie Jones and Brandy. About two months ago, long before I even heard about Kim’s marriage or divorce, I was trying to finish up the casting. I said to one of my producers, “who else is out there that young people are looking up to?” One of my producers showed me pictures that his daughter had taken of several hundred kids lined up around the corner to get into a Kardashian store. They wanted to meet Kim. I thought, what better person! She literally has millions of young people following her. I thought and still do think, that it would be very responsible of her to be a part of this film. To have the young people that look up to her, see her in a film that is about, what happens in life when you make the wrong choices. Whether you’re aware of it or not, to be honest with you I wasn’t, millions of young people adore her and are following her every move. If one of those young people see this film and find the strength to live a better life and not go through what these characters went through in this movie, then we have all done what I feel I’m being led to do here. I hope you understand. I really do!

And lastly, because I believe that my films speak from the inside out, why wouldn’t Kim Kardashian be invited into a film about Faith, Forgiveness and the healing power of God? What is wrong with that??

Chris Tucker has finally come up with an answer to his financial problems …. reprising his movie career!

Tiny Lister, who played “Debo” in the movie franchise says the 39 year-old actor is in talks with Ice Cube about filming a fourth “Friday”.

Tiny Lister was hangin’ out in L.A. last night — when the scariest man in Hollywood told us … Tucker flew him out on his private jet recently to discuss the possibility of getting the ORIGINAL “Friday” crew back together.

FYI — Tucker shot into superstardom playing pot-obsessed Smokey in the original “Friday” back in 1995 … and then refused to appear in any of the sequels, citing religious reasons.

But now, Lister tells us … Tucker and Cube have a big pow-wow set for next week to discuss a 4th “Friday” film … adding, “This is gonna be the big one.”

Lister told us he and Tucker also talked about doing a sequel to the 1997 hit, “The Fifth Element.”

The first official trailer for “The Hunger Games” has finally arrived!

“The Hunger Games,”one of the most anticipated films of 2012, is a sci-fi action drama based on the teen novel of the same name written by Suzanne Collins.

Academy Award nominated actress Jennifer Lawrence stars in the movie as a character named Katniss, who competes in the Hunger Games, a nationally televised tournament where two parties fight to the death.

“Hunger Games” also stars Josh Hutcherson, who plays fellow competitor Peeta, and Liam Hemsworth, who plays Katniss’s friend Gale. The Gary Ross directed movie is set to hit theaters in March 2012.

Jordin Sparks was by far not the first choice to play “Sparkle” in the upcoming movie remake.

During a recent interview with Access Hollywood, Whitney Houston revealed that Aaliyah was originally suppose to star in the film:

“This was [Aaliyah’s] movie, when we brought it to her, she was so enthusiastic about it and she wanted it, to do it so badly. She was our Sparkle. Unfortunately, it just didn’t go that way. I put it down. I said, ‘My Sparkle has gone to a better place,’ then we just left it alone.”

We can only imagine how great this movie would have turned out if Aaliyah was still with us today.

Side note: Whitney has been impressing us so much lately. You go girl!

The trailer for “Snow White and the Huntsman” has finally arrived!

Starring Kristen Stewart (as Snow White), Charlize Theron (as the evil queen), Chris Hemsworth and Sam Claflin, the film, one of the most anticipated movies of 2012, is set to hit theaters next summer.

Synopsis: Kristen Stewart plays Snow White, the only person in the land fairer than the evil queen (Theron) out to destroy her. But what the wicked ruler never imagined is that the young woman threatening her reign has been training in the art of war with a huntsman (Hemsworth) dispatched to kill her. Sam Claflin joins the cast as the prince long enchanted by Snow White’s beauty and power.

“Snow White and the Huntsman,” directed by Rupert Sanders is due in theaters on June 1st 2012.

As a collective, Tyrese and Taraji P. Henson will always be known as “Jody and Yvette from Baby Boy” … and if new reports are anything to go by, it looks like the pair are to re-unite for a second time in a new John Singleton movie!

Though details about the film (including a possible title or who else will be in it) have yet to be released, Tyrese recently revealed that it will most definitely NOT be a sequel to “Baby Boy,” which was released in 2001.

“Official.. Me and my girl Taraji are doing another classic together soon.!! John Singleton will be directing us. And not it’s not BB2.”

Tyrese recently sat down with an interview with Ace Showbiz, where he spilled the beans about the upcoming John Singleton flick:

The first single “Stay” was made available for purchase in August, and was written based on a relationship he had years ago. “I was in a relationship with this girl and I wasn’t making her priority. I did what I had to do to get her love me and like me and get her in a relationship with me and I basically at the time, which was years ago, … started to focus more on my career,” he shared. “So things got extra bad and I was begging her to stay.”

The love story was visualized in a beautifully-shot music video which sees Tyrese reuniting with his “Baby Boy” co-star and longtime pal Taraji P. Henson. “I love her [and] she loves me. She’s a beautiful person, very humble, funny as hell. Even though it’s been ten years [since 'Baby Boy'] you can’t really put a timeline between magic,” he gushed. “I think she’s really special, beautiful and I was honored that she wanted to do my ‘Stay’ video.”

Talking about reunion with Taraji, Tyrese spilled further that he has been in talks with “Baby Boy” director John Singleton to team up with her again in a new movie. The rumor started swirling when “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” actress tweeted about her meeting with the two guys, and it was later confirmed by Tyrese himself. “John singleton is on a mission to get me and Taraji to do it again,” he stated.

Disney’s “The Lion King 3D” is still the #1 movie in the country after bringing in $22.1 million over this past weekend, stealing the coveted spot from Brad Pitt’s “Moneyball,” which came in at a close #2 with $20.6 million in box office sales, followed by “Dolphin Tale” (featuring Morgan Freeman and Ashley Judd), which brought in $20.3 million.

So far, Lion King 3D, which has only been out for 10 days, has earned $61.7 million domestically. It has earned over $70 million worldwide.

Other movies released this weekend were “Abduction” (starring Taylor Lautner) and “Killer Elite” (Robert DeNiro and Jason Statham).

50 Cent may have to resurrect his side kick “Pimpin Curly” to get a little advice for his upcoming movie role.

According to reports, the business mogul has secured a role in upcoming movie “Frozen Ground” (directed by new film director on the block Scott Walker), and will play a pimp from the 1980′s.

“Frozen Ground,” which also stars Nicolas Cage, Vanessa Hudgens and John Cusack, is based on the true-life story of an Alaskan pimp turned serial killer named Robert “Butcher Baker” Hansen, who took the lives of over 20 prostitutes throughout the 70′s and 80′s.

Cusack will play Hansen, while Cage will portray an Alaska State Trooper that pursues him. Hudgens will play as one of Hansen’s “escaped victims.”

Not content with just starring in the movie, 50 will also release the project via his Emmet/Furla films imprint.

The film is scheduled for release in December 2012.

The newly released 3D version of Disney‘s wildly popular animated movie “The Lion King” claimed the weekend box office throne this weekend … with domestic ticket sales totaling up to $29.3 million, shocking critics and even people at Disney, who estimated that the movie wouldn’t do more than around $10 million or so.

Since its release in 1994, the original Lion King — considered to be one of the most successful animated films of all time — has earned an impressive $358 million dollars in the U.S. alone, and $784 million in theaters worldwide.

A 3D Blu-ray disc for “The Lion King” is set for release next month.

Hot on the heels of the announcement that he will be releasing a free album at the end of this month, R&B singer/songwriter The Dream has put out a video — more like a silent trailer with a backing track — for his new song “Murderer.”

The track is slated to appear on both The Dream’s free project “1977″ (released under his birth name Terius Nash) and the upcoming movie Columbiana, starring actress Zoe Saldana, who stars in the clip.

For those of you excited by the prospects of “Austin Powers” hitting the big screen again, just hold your horses as reports may be somewhat false.

HitFix originally reported that Mike Myers had signed on to play the shag-a-delic international spy for a fourth time and that it was a done deal. However, entertainment site Deadline New York is reporting that no deal has been signed as of yet.

According to the latest reports, the deal isn’t finalized and Myers has only expressed interest in a proposal presented around 6 months ago from New Line. Apparently, the project was postponed after Myers’ 2008 movie “The Love Guru” didn’t do well at the box office, and he took a brief break from Hollywood.

But now New Line is seeking to revitalize the project recently and sent out a new offer about 6 months ago. Myers’ reps say that he’s definitely interested though.

Guess we’ll just have to wait and see!

Mary J. Blige has released a video for the motion picture soundtrack to the new movie “The Help.” Check out the “The Living Proof” above!

And let’s just say … it wasn’t a hit and run for the “Super Bass” rapper to get the role.

“The original role that I was up for I didn’t get. So I said, ‘Oh, OK, whatever.’ I was really mad, and the next thing you know, they called me and they said, ‘We wrote in a part just for you ’cause we really want you to be a part of this movie’” she explained.

Not giving too much away, the pint-sized rapper said, “I don’t know how much I can talk about that, but I came about that when my agency sent me out on an audition for some people who wanted to hear me. They knew I liked animation, they knew I liked to do voices, and so they said they were doing that so I thought, ‘This is amazing.’”

Minaj didn’t disclose what character she will be playing in the movie, but she did say it’s up to the producers to choose one out of the two voices she played, and even so she still had a blast.

“And I just was screaming and so excited, and I went in and I had a blast. I did it as two different voices. We’ll see what happens.”

Actress Zoe Saldana stars as a stone-cold assassin named Cataleya Restrepo in the upcoming movie “Colombiana,” due out in theaters on August 26th!

The rise of the monkey movies continues with “Rise of the Planet of the Apes.” While nothing can compare to the psychological mindgame the original “Planet of the Apes” delivered, based off the trailer, this take on the series looks to be more promising than expected. Set before the original Charleton Heston film, it follows James Franco’s character, Will Rodman, as he genetically modifies apes to find a cure for Alzheimer’s. “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” hits theaters August 5th!

The trailer for upcoming action packed movie “Battleship” has hit the net.

The $200 million live-action film, based on Hasbro’s naval combat board game and directed by Peter Berg, features pop starlet Rihanna, who appears alongside Liam Neeson, Taylor Kitsch and Alexander Skarsgard.

The film is due to arrive in theatres on May 18th 2012.

Jennifer Lopez is back at work following her unexpected divorce from Marc Anthony … and she was snapped on the set of her new movie “What to Expect When You’re Expecting” earlier today (and yesterday and the day before) in Atlanta.

The film, which also stars Cameron Diaz, Chris Rock and Chace Crawford follows four couples as they begin the road of parenthood, something J.Lo can relate to as she is the mother of two young twins Emme and Max, who were both also on the set watching their mommy film her new movie.

Meanwhile, sources say that Jennifer Lopez’s deal with American Idol is near completion, and she will most likely be returning to the show next season.

“We’re in good shape. No worries. No dark clouds on the horizon,” Cécile Frot-Coutaz, CEO at FremantleMedia North America, which produces the talent competition series, told the WSJ.

Though production for the Clint Eastwood-directed movie doesn’t begin until the end of the year, the Pop star is already gearing up for her lead roll in the film, calling the film the “biggest opportunity of her life.”

“It’s when I became a fan of Barbra Streisand’s. And I then saw Judy Garland’s version of ‘A Star Is Born’ and I realized every 20 to 30 years a new star is born and a new talent represents that generation and era — so I didn’t think that I would ever get the opportunity to be the star,” she told Reuters.

“I met with Clint and I was so nervous and I know that it is the biggest opportunity of my life. I will work as hard as I can,” she said. “Because I can’t wait. And I am so happy that he trusts me and I am in good hands and I am so fortunate.”

On balancing acting with music:
“Having to balance the two is really hard and really making sure that I’m still doing my job, which is to be the performer and the entertainer and not have to do everyone else’s job so that mine doesn’t suffer, that’s been a challenge. I’m sleeping with my blackberry, I’m having dreams that I’m answering e-mails, like it’s that far!”

On “4″ being a cohesive album:
“This album was a labor of love. It was not about singles,” she said. “I felt like the emotion and live instruments and just soul (were) missing out of the music industry, especially the popular music that’s out. I wanted to bring it back to the music I grew up listening to. It’s like a mixture of the ’90s and the ’70s and rock-n-roll.”

On trying to top her “Single Ladies” music video:
“[That video] was something that no one knew would become the phenomenon it became, thank God. And I know I am so lucky to have one of those moments in my career. It is just a blessing.”

On using Michael Jackson as inspiration to take charge of her career:
“It just feels like no one else can tell me how I am supposed to perform, and I think it’s what separates the Michaels and the Madonnas from the artists that are great but are just not quite the Michaels and the Madonnas.”

On herself 30 years from now:
“I am sure at 60 I will not doing the Oh-Oh-Oh dance, that will not be cute,” she laughed, referring to the ‘Crazy In Love’ dance. “I think my priority will be my children and hopefully my grandchildren by then — and my record label or production company or whatever else.”

Chris Brown is taking on a starring role in the film adaptation of actor/comedian Steve Harvey’s best selling book “Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man.”

The romantic comedy will follow four friends who find their love lives turned upside down they find out that the women they’re dating are taking advice from Harvey’s book. Once they find out what’s up, the guys start to adapt to the teachings from the book for themselves.

Also starring in the flick are Brown’s “Takers” co-star Michael Ealy, along with Taraji P. Henson, Gabrielle Union, Kevin hart, Meagan Good, Terrence J from “106 & Park” and more.

Along with “Takers,” Chris Brown’s film credits include “Stomp the Yard” and “This Christmas.”

“Think Like a Man” is scheduled to hit theaters on April 6th 2012.

Trey Songz is taking his talents to the big screen!

The R&B crooner has signed on to make his first acting debut in upcoming horror film, “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D.”

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Songz will play the male lead and the boyfriend of the previously-cast Alexandra Daddario in the Millennium/Nu Image pic, which will be released on October 5, 2012 by Lionsgate.

“Chainsaw” will be Songz’s big screen acting debut, and the part allows the budding thespian to be physical, romantic and heroic.

John Luessenhop (Takers) is directing the flick, which was written by Adam Marcus and Debra Sullivan. Kirsten Elms and Luessenhop did polish work on it.

This should definitely be a sight to see … and for the ladies, something easy on the eyes.

The latest “Harry Potter” movie made so much money last weekend … that it beat the opening weekend numbers for the Batman blockbuster “The Dark Knight,” which had previously held the record of best opening weekend EVER!

In 2008, “The Dark Knight” earned $158.4 million its opening weekend. And this past weekend, Warner Bros. estimated that “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2″ raked in $168.6 million domestically from Friday to Sunday.

“This will be the biggest `Harry Potter’ by far,” said Dan Fellman, head of domestic distribution at Warner Bros. “A billion dollars is definitely going to happen.”

The current franchise high is $974.8 million worldwide for the first film, “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” 10 years ago.

“Deathly Hallows: Part 2″ does have the advantage of 3-D screenings, which cost a few dollars more than 2-D shows. Because of the higher 3-D price, plus regular inflation, “Deathly Hallows: Part 2″ sold fewer tickets than “The Dark Knight” over opening weekend.

The “Harry Potter” finale also set a record for best opening day domestically Friday with $92.1 million, nearly $20 million ahead of the previous high for “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” two years ago.

Other records for “Deathly Hallows: Part 2: best domestic gross for debut midnight shows at $43.5 million, topping the $30 million for last year’s “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse”; best domestic opening in huge-screen IMAX theaters with $15.5 million, surpassing the $12.2 million for last year’s “Alice in Wonderland”; and best worldwide IMAX debut with $23.5 million, beating the $20.4 million for “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” two weeks ago.

Paramount’s third “Transformers” blockbuster, which had been No. 1 the previous two weekends, slipped to second-place with $21.3 million domestically. It remains the year’s top domestic hit with $302.8 million.

Actresses Eva Longoria and Kate Del Castillo share a steamy lesbian sex scene in the new “Without Men” film.

Vanessa Hudgens looked nothing like her usually beautiful self on the set of her new movie “Gimme Shelter” last week in New Jersey.

To get in character for her role, the 22-year-old actress underwent a massive transformation that saw her wearing short, unkempt hair, a shapeless grey hoodie over a black T-shirt, and baggy faded jeans and a pair of black sneakers. She also sported a tattoo on her neck, along with lip and nose piercings.

She posted to her Facebook page:

“Hey guys, what’s happenin? I have been so stupidly busy working on Gimme Shelter. I’m so excited and proud of the work I’ve been doing and let me tell you, you all are going to be SHOCKED with how I look in this movie. It’s crazy sauce. Lol only one more week of shooting till I’m done!”

In the film, which also stars Rosario Dawson, Hudgens plays a teenager who gets pregnant and put out on the streets by her Wall Street father (played by Brendan Fraser) to fend for herself after she decides to keep the baby and not have an abortion.

“Gimme Shelter” is due for release sometime in 2012.

The 90-city tour has been dubbed one of the most successful comedy concerts in history, and now Hartbeat Productions and Codeblack Entertainment have announced that a full-length feature film, also titled “Laugh at My Pain,” is due to hit theaters on September 9th.

The movie documents a raw and uncut version Hart’s 2-day performance at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, as well as backstage footage and more.

Viewers will also be taken on a trip back to Philadelphia, where Kevin Hart began his journey to become one of the funniest and most successful comedians of all time.
